Technology is great but it’s people who count!

A big thank you to all presenters and participants at the C4D Network event iMedia co-hosted in October 2012. We hope that even seasoned mobile techies learned something new – from using IVR as a news platform in Afghanistan (Mobile Mahaal – iMedia and Media Support Partnership Afghanistan) to scaling up health worker training and tools in India (Mobile Academy and Mobile Kunji – BBC MA); we were excited by the buzzing multimedia mix that is launching a social movement around Verdade newspaper in Mozambique and the tailoring of well known Frontline SMS to the needs of community radio stations around the world; we learned from Tactical Tech Collective about the perils and the potentials of using mobile for activism and about GSMA’s amazing new mobile data resource – Mobile and Development Intelligence.
