Evaluation in the time of COVID – lessons from digital SBCC programmes

‘Evaluation in the time of COVID – lessons from digital SBCC programmes‘: In September 2021 iMedia convened a session at the European Evaluation Society online conference to explore monitoring and evaluation of programmes where digital platforms are being used to reach and engage with audiences and communities.

We focused on interventions supporting Family Planning, and Sexual and Reproductive Health, and learned how the COVID 19 pandemic has affected approaches to research and what challenges it has thrown up. We were fortunate to have presentations and contributions from iMedia associate, Linda Raftree, who started with a summary of our landscape research on digital and social media for SBCC, and practitioners and evaluators involved with RAES’ C’est la Vie (Francophone West Africa), Girl Effect India’s TEGA and Chhaa Jaa, DKT Nigeria’s Honey & Banana and Shujaaz Inc. (Kenya). Click here for the session summary and please do get in touch if you would like to share your stories of M&E of digital SBCC as we prepare a briefing paper for publication early 2022.
